What Are The Criteria for Obesity Operation?
There are some criteria for patients who want to undergo bariatric(obesity) surgery. These criteria can be listed as follows:
- Age between 20-65
- Body mass index above normal values and no additional disease
- If there is an additional disease (diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, asthma, polycystic ovary syndrome, severe joint problems), body mass index (BMI) value of 35-40kg / m2
- Body mass index (BMI) between 30-35 kg / m2 in difficult-to-control diabetes
- Individuals who have previously had any diet with personal effort
- Individuals who will come to follow-up examinations in the post-operative period and use the recommended support and drugs
- Individuals without any substance addiction
The criteria for people who are not fit for surgery are as follows:
- Alcohol or drug addiction
- Stomach cancer disease
- Smoking
